Setting the Sundial, telling the time.
Looking at the face of the Sundial pendant, we have a bail, an outer dial with hand engraved artwork. There is also an inner dial with Romen Numerals just like a clock. And a thin bar accross the center called a Gnomen,
We start with the back of the Sundial, noting the numbers 0, two notches, 30, two notches, 60, two notches , 90. These represent your degrees in Latitude. You will note an arrow in the bail, the bail will slide along outside of Sundial base. Gripping the bottom of sundial with one hand and sliding the bail you can set your arrow on the latitude. For example, Palm Beach FL is aproximatly 27 degrees, place the arrow on 27 degrees, your Sundial is now adjusted and the Gnomen is adjusted to the corect angle for Celestial North.
Now open the Sundial, a small raised button on back of dial, when pushed will open the dial. The inner dial will swing open and has a stop at 90 degrees. Suspend the Sundial, point the Diamond end North.
Now look for the shadow of the Gnomen on the center dial within Roman Numerals. It will give you tho time of day, within a 15 minute variable to accomodate Solar Time.
